Wild Lochaber Festival 2013

Wild Lochaber Festival 18th - 25th May 2013
The Wild Lochaber Festival, set up in 2012, was established to showcase the fabulous environment we enjoy here in Lochaber, as well as the many nature-related activities that take place each year in this beautiful part of the West Highlands.
From summit to sea Lochaber enjoys a wonderful variety of habitats and this diversity is reflected in the creatures that live here.
This years festival is set to be bigger and better with over 40 workshops and events from an extensive range of activity providers, wildlife guides and organisations.
There are many activities on offer including Wildlife Cruises, Red Deer Safaris, Rock Safaris, Squirrel Hunts and even Beach Qigong!
We are sure there is something to suit everyone, so take a look at the varied programme, book your place and get involved.
The festival programme provides access to experienced wildlife and activity guides, who can take you to the top, remote wildlife spots and help you find and identify the range of wildlife and magnificent landscapes and seascapes in Lochaber.
During the festival a festival information and booking centre will be set up in the Fort William High Street, between the Grog & Gruel and the Tavern Restaurant (opposite the Whisky Shop) between Saturday 18th – Friday 24th May.

Stag joust.flv
I was watching these stags to pass the time waiting for the early morning cloud to pass to do some lanscape photogrpahy when two pairs of stags started jousting. The one posing for the camera was challenging me! He kept lowering his head to present his antlers. Bit worrying as he was two feet from the car. Don't think I'd have had much chance.
