Fort William Mountain Festival 18th-22nd February 2015
The Fort William Mountain Festival is a celebration of wild mountain culture, in the Outdoor Capital of the UK. The festival is a showcase of inspirational films, talks, shows, book corner, exhibitions and workshops to inspire us all in different ways – and you won’t find a better example of the diversity of mountain culture than in this year’s festival lectures and films..
The Outdoor Capital's celebrations of Scottish culture, heritage and music are a great way to see true Scottish emblems in action, with the backdrop of stunning scenery. From the sound of bagpipes and men in kilts to traditional events including throwing the hammer and tossing the caber, Lochaber has it all and so much more.
Local sports clubs include Football, Rugby & Shinty which are all played throughout the area and are open to spectators, fixtures can be found in the What’s On.
Or do you fancy a challenge? Take part in some of the local sporting events including marathons, triathlons, and even the exciting and unique Glen Nevis River Race.
As the summer fades and we turn our heads to the months ahead November sees the 2nd week long programme of lectures, competitions, networking and business innovation encouraging local business development and interaction during Lochaber Ideas Week.
