The Outdoor Capital take a great interest in promoting events throughout Lochaber and offer support to a range of festivals and events:
Fort William Mountain Festival – 19-23 February 2014

The Fort William Mountain Festival is a celebration of the best in outdoor and mountain culture.
The programme includes a Launch Night with local produce and entertainment at the Pinemarten Cafe Bar, Nevis Range, followed by four themed evening events in the Nevis Centre main auditorium:

Plus a Mountain Bike Night is being added to the line up in The Studio soon.
We also have an excellent selection of Workshops, Fringe Events, the Exhibition Area with the new Book Corner, a Bike Night and a Multi Media Presentation with Nadir Khan.
Celtic Paddle Fest – 9-11 May 2014
A new event for 2014 is the Celtic Paddle Fest, which is set to be a weekend of fun and entertainment. A programme of sessions and activities is being developed to suit all abilities from those who have never been on the water before to those with a little experience but looking to improve or learn new skills. Details will be release in the new year!

The Wild Lochaber Festival features a week long programme of wildlife watching events, lectures and trips. The experienced and knowledgeable local guides take you throughout Lochaber in search of a vast range of wildlife including Visit Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage’s Big 5 – Red Squirrel, Seals, Red Deer, Sea Eagles & Otters, as well as wildlife exclusive to the Lochaber area including the Chequered Skipper Butterfly.
Celebration's of Scottish culture, heritage and music are a great way to see true Scottish emblems in action, with the backdrop of stunning scenery. From the sound of bagpipes and men in kilts to traditional events including throwing the hammer and tossing the caber, Lochaber has it all and so much more.
Local sports clubs include Football, Rugby & Shinty which are all played throughout the area and are open to spectators, fixtures can be found in the What’s On.
Or do you fancy a challenge? Take part in some of the local sporting events including marathons, triathlons, and even the exciting and unique Glen Nevis River Race.
Plus a week long programme of lectures, competitions, networking and business innovation encouraging local business development and interaction during Lochaber Ideas Week.
