The Granite House has been serving locals and visitors to Fort William since 1977.

This family business puts quality service first. This was recognised a few years ago when they won the prestigious “Best Gift Shop in Scotland” award. Stocking interesting and unusual gifts, both traditional and contemporary jewellery and watches, on trend, home and kitchen ware, and FFunky and fun novelty gifts to name a few.

The clothing department suits both the outdoor enthusiast and fashion conscious, and a small but very neat music department can usually help out with every day essentials for the musician.

They also offer a wide range of personalised garment printing and engraving.

Nevisport Fort Willaim

Nevisport Fort William their journey started back in 1970. Spread over two floors, you will find the best selection of winter sports, climbing and outdoor clothing and equipment in the UK.

Close to Britain's highest mountain; Ben Nevis. All of their staff engage in various types of outdoor activities, so you can be confident of our recommendations from a wide range of clothing and equipment stocked from many leading brands.

They specialises in an extensive range of climbing gear, both for summer and winter, that will cater for the needs of the beginner to the more experienced, and comprehensive range of climbing guides, outdoor books and maps to assist you with your activities. During the winter, boots axes and crampons are available for hire and they display up to date daily weather and avalanche forecasts.

Attached to the shop is a cafe and bar for meals, drinks and homebaking which is operated by Cobbs, free Wifi is also available in the cafe and bar. 


Everyday Essentials
There is a large Morrisons supermarket near Fort William town centre, plus a Tesco Metro on the high street. You’ll also find smaller food shops, general stores and post offices in most villages. Fort William has two pharmacies – both on the high street.

Outdoor Retailers/Suppliers

You may well be in the best place in the UK for outdoor shops! We have large chains, and smaller independent shops – all supplying the top brands of outdoor equipment.

As a major tourism centre, the Outdoor Capital is well supplied with gift shops and you can find some lovely unusual gifts – in particular jewellery, crafts and Celtic music, as well as the more traditional Scottish souvenirs.

Stained glass mirrors, batik, hand-painted glassware, tapestry, handmade candles and soaps, jewellery, wooden crafts, knitwear, ceramics...the list goes on and on. You’ll find local and Scottish art for all tastes and budgets.
