Looking down Loch Leven

Glencoe and Loch Leven is an area steeped in history. It’s blessed with stunning scenery and offers warm Highland hospitality. Glencoe is one of the most famous and atmospheric highland glens - notorious for its bloody history and awe-inspiring mountain peaks and ridges.

As well as mountain sports, there are many low level trails, ideal for walking and cycling. There are lochs for fishing and sailing, golf courses and more. The villages offer a wide variety of accommodation and many throw a good highland ceilidh!

Year-round attractions include a fascinating folk museum, the National Trust Visitor Centre, The Ice Factor indoor rock and ice climbing centre and much more.

Ski, walk, climb, paddle – however you enjoy it, the Glencoe and Loch Leven region has some of the best Highland scenery to explore.

Although peaceful, the glens are full of wildlife – deer graze at the roadside, buzzards, sparrow hawks and the occasional golden eagle soar overhead. You may even spot the elusive Pine Marten.

You can find out about the history of the area in local visitor centres. Discover more about the Glencoe Massacre or the effect of the Aluminium industry and slate quarries on the area.
