 Glencoe and Loch Leven is an area steeped in history.

It’s blessed with stunning scenery and offers warm Highland hospitality and accommodation. Glencoe in Scotland is one of the world’s most famous and atmospheric highland glens - notorious for its poignant bloody history and awe-inspiring mountain peaks and ridges.  Snow sports and mountaineering play a large part in its appeal; and Glencoe is home to the oldest ski resort in Scotland on the northern slopes of Meall a’Bhuiridh is Glencoe Mountain Resort. If you fancy like a hot drink and a bit to eat when out on the mountains, the Glencoe Mountain Resort Café is perfect for this. 

As well as mountain sports, there are many low level trails, ideal for walking and cycling. There are lochs for fishing and sailing, and fun packed fast boat excursions with SeaXplorer, golf courses and more. The villages offer a wide variety of accommodation and many throw a good highland ceilidh! 

Year-round attractions include a fascinating folk museum, the National Trust Visitor Centre, who host a wide range of activities and events throughout the seasons.  The Ice Factor has some of the  best, highest, most varied, and demanding indoor rock climbing and ice climbing in the UK, with the worlds biggest indoor ice climbing wall standing at 50ft, with 500 tonnes of real snow and ice it is worth a visit even if you only want to see it in action.

Ski, walk, climb, paddle, relax, unwind  – however you enjoy it, the Glencoe and Loch Leven region has some of the best Highland scenery to explore. There are plenty of activities in Loch Leven and Glencoe to get your teeth in too. 

Although peaceful, the glens are full of wildlife – deer graze at the roadside, buzzards, sparrow hawks and the occasional golden eagle soar overhead. You may even spot the elusive Pine Marten.
