White Water Rafting & Fun Yakking

white water rafting (Highland Activities)White Water Rafting

White water rafting in Lochaber The Outdoor Capital of the UK can be the best in the country.

The River Garry is in our opinion the best guaranteed white water rafting experience in Scotland. A fantastic grade 3 & 4 white water rafting adventure for everyone!

Scheduled dam releases give us guaranteed water levels from April until October once per week. Great for adventure lovers, adrenaline junkies & adventurous families! Only happens once a week, don’t miss out

White water rafting on the River Garry is an exhilarating experience and there are 6 big rapids such as Double or Quits, Surfs Up, Hey Diddle Diddle, and the tunnel of love. Big bouncy waves, drops, stoppers and plenty of surfing is the order of the day check out the video & images below to see the action for yourself!"

When there has been rain or snow melt white water rafting also takes place on other rivers in the area such as the River Roy, River Arkaig and there are also scenic rafting trips available on the River Lochy and River Oich

The adventure begins with getting kitted out. All you need to bring are shorts, a warm top and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, a towel and a sense of adventure. Your white water rafting guides then give you a safety brief to tell you what to do in the boat and what to do if you fall out! Then it’s onto the river to find out who has paid attention.

If you’ve never experienced white water rafting the Outdoor Capital is the ideal place to give it a go.

Fun yakking is a unique and exciting way to experience white water in the Fort William area. The Fun Yaks are also known as duckies and are two person inflatable boats which you take down easy white water with a friend.

Funyakking is a great alternative to white water rafting and slightly more involved as yu are in control of your own boat.Your day starts by kitting up from head to toe in neoprene suits, and then you are off down to the river to learn how to control the boats and what to do if you should happen to fall in!

When you are ready your guide will take you off down the classic grade 2/3 river covering safety aspects on the way. This is a  perfect activity for gaining a different perspective on the Outdoor Capital of  the UK.
